ISLAMABAD: Hyundai has revealed the first electric vehicle (EV) in Pakistan, a noteworthy development in the country’s automotive sector but with a significant price tag.
Hyundai Pakistan unveiled its first luxury electric vehicle in Pakistan, the IONIQ 5, at a ceremony in Lahore. The premium segment EV is a crossover SUV.
“It’s more than just a drive – it’s a revolution on wheels, bringing style, sustainability, and sheer excitement to every mile you conquer!” the company said in a Facebook post with a video.
According to the company, the price of the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is Rs22,500,000, which means it is a premium segment EV. The car is a luxury one and has several modern features, making it stand out among its competitors.
The Hyundai five-seater EV in Pakistan has a permanent magnet synchronous motor and lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 72.6Kwh and an output of 253kw. The maximum power of the electric motor is 225kw (301.6hp), 605Nm of torque while the all-electric range is up to 430 km/charge. The car comes with a single-speed reduction column-type shift-by-wire transmission.

The car is 4635mm long, 1890mm wide, and 1605mm high, with a wheelbase of 3,000mm and ground clearance of 170mm.
The car is available in six colours: Atlas White, Abyss Black, Ecotronic Grey, Lucid Blue Pearl, Digital Teal-Green Pearl, Gravity Gold Matte.
